You’ve come to the right place if you want to sign up or create a new Apple ID! This blog post will walk you through the steps necessary to create an Apple ID. Creating an Apple ID is a quick and easy process, and it’s important to have one if you want to take advantage of all that Apple has to offer. So, without further ado, let’s get started!
Having an Apple ID after you get the new Apple device is important to use all the features of the device. An Apple ID is needed for iCloud, App Store, iTunes Store, iMessage and FaceTime. If you have any Apple device like iPhone, iPad or iPod touch and don’t have an Apple ID yet, create one. You can create an Apple ID without providing a payment method.
An Apple ID gives you access to all Apple services and purchases on your devices, including the App Store, iTunes Store, iCloud Drive storage plan, Apple Music subscription, etc. It’s also required to develop apps or join the Apple Developer Program. When you create an Apple ID, some basic personal information is requested, such as your name and date of birth, along with a password that must be at least eight characters long. You’ll also be asked to verify your email address by clicking on a link in an email that Apple sends you.
Create a New Apple ID using iOS Device
You can create or signup for an Apple ID on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch or Mac, and there’s also a dedicated website for doing it on a PC. Here’s how:
To signup for an Apple ID on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch :
- Tap Settings > iCloud. If you’re using iOS or earlier, go to Settings > iTunes & App Stores.
- Tap Create a new Apple ID.
- Choose your country and enter an email address you want to use as your Apple ID. An email address is required to sign up for an Apple ID, but it doesn’t need to be a new one. You can use any existing email address you have access to, including Gmail, Yahoo Mail, Outlook or another service.
- Enter a password that you want to use for your new Apple ID, along with some security questions for future validation so that you can reset your password if necessary. Be sure to choose questions and answers that you’ll remember!
- Tap Next and enter the verification code sent to your email address.
You can now start using your new Apple ID!
Signup for Apple ID on Website
On your Computer, visit Apple’s website:
- Go to appleid.apple.com and click “Create your Apple ID.”
- Enter your name, birthday, email address, and password and choose the country or region you live in.
- Click “Continue.”
- Apple will send a verification email to the address you provided. Click on the link in that email to verify your address.
There are some things to keep in mind when creating an Apple ID:
- Your Apple ID can be any valid email address. It doesn’t need to be an @icloud.com, @me.com or @gmail.com email address.
- A strong password is important! Use a mixture of upper and lowercase letters, numbers and symbols. We also recommend using a different password for your Apple ID than the one you use for other online accounts.
- Apple will never ever ask you for your password in an unsolicited email or over the phone. If you ever receive a call or email like this, it’s a scam, and you should not provide your information.
- You can create an Apple ID without providing a payment method. However, if you want to purchase items from the App Store, iTunes Store or make other purchases with your new Apple ID, you’ll need to add a payment method.
- It’s necessary to keep your info up to date in your Apple ID account. This includes your email address, physical address, phone number and date of birth. You can update this information at any time by signing into your Apple ID account page.
